Macro Monday: Not so Fierce

I'm going to confess, I didn't take this photo today.  I've been at a French Masters Art Exhibition in Canberra today and cameras were not allowed. Sacré bleu! So many macro opportunities and no camera. I've had to dig into the files for today's Macro Monday.

I wish I knew what type of lizard this is.  I had to lay in muddy stream to get the shot as he poked his nose out from under a rock ledge.

By coincidence I'm following the reptile theme on Macro Monday although
I don't think this little fella is going to rip my arm off.

    Perfect close-up photo of this little snake. He will not rip your arm off but he can do something more if he is venomous. Your blog title is perfect for this brave shot.

    That little leg eliminates one of the possibilities. I am no lizard afficianado so know not his name. Like the photograph though, and the lying in the river!!

    now here's a fella I don't think I would mind getting a bit closer too - at least he doesn't have big teeth and a jaw bigger than a football. But if he has venom then I'm gonna be running again too. I've gone into a river before too to get a photo - great photo

    oh, my brother lived in the mountains for about 10 years, they've moved about 100 miles from Brissy now!

    don't know what happened to my first comment.

    great shot...his teeth wouldn't be too large to do much damage, and i don't know of a lizard with venom. love the glistening moss. he's just a typical garden lizard, there everywhere on the North Shore, don't know the names though

    I would tell people that it was a baby crocodile. Great shot, it surprises me that you had the patience to wait for him.

    oh! excellent macro of this guy!! Doesn't matter if it's not a new photo...i love it! he kinda looks like some kind of skink...but i dunno. Either way, he's cute!

    This is awesome. I wish my camera could take macro shots. Well, it might, but I don't know how to work that :(
